There’s a heap of school holiday fun to be had on Hastings Street this September!

Are you spending the September school holidays on Hastings Street?

We’ve got loads of ice cream to eat, beaches to swim at and activities to keep the kids entertained, along with a whole bunch of interactive experiences to get their bodies moving and brains ticking.

Not sure where to start? Here are our top school holiday activities to do on Hastings Street – guaranteed to keep the kiddies (and their parents) having fun all holidays long.

Hike to Hells Gates

Catch Noosa’s famous crystal blue beaches & bays from the best angle possible. Start your day with a hot coffee & flaky croissant from Providore on Hastings or a fresh juice from Cafe Le Monde, and head up the hill to explore Tea Tree Bay, Dolphin Bay and the natural fairy pools. The reward for reaching the top is panoramic views of the paradise we call Noosa. Pack your togs for the perfect cool down!

Explore from the water

The Noosa Ferry is the perfect way to see all Noosa has on offer. Whether you enjoy the sunshine from the rooftop, or take in the beauty of the blue water from down below, this one is sure to please the whole family. The best part? You can board directly from Hastings Street!

Happiness on a stick

There’s something nostalgic about spending the entire day at Noosa Main Beach, followed by your favourite cold, creamy treat. One of our favourite spots to get some of the best gelato in town is Happy Pops Noosa. Let the kids choose their own adventure with the Build Your Own experience – start off by choosing a gelato, sorbet, waffle or brownie ‘pop’, add your chocolate drizzle and then load up at the toppings station.

Ride Noosa’s famous waves at Noosa Groyne

Right next to Noosa Main Beach you will find Noosa Groyne, a local favourite. If you've got a bit of time up your sleeve (and the kids are looking for the ultimate holiday stoke) book them in for a learn to surf lesson with our friends at Noosa Learn to Surf – make some new friends in a group lesson or enjoy an educational day on the waves with a private session.

Set up for the day by the beach

Away from the hustle and bustle of Noosa Main Beach, The Spit is the perfect place to spread out and set up for the day. Bring your favourite eats, or perhaps pop over to The Spit Van for a coffee, toastie or a scoop of local Noosa gelato (they will not disappoint). Let the kids run free, and enjoy yourself just as much.

Enjoy a sundowner pizza

One of the most remarkable sights you can see on Hastings Street is its surfers. Combine that with our famous sunsets and you have the ideal afternoon. Perch yourself up on the rocks near the entry to the Noosa National Park with a fresh takeaway pizza from El Capitano and watch their skill in disbelief!

One word: pontoon.

One word: pontoon. If your getaway includes a large group, Boardwalk Boat's 11-seater pontoon is the perfect day activity to let loose on the water. Many come with an on-deck barbecue and esky, so plan to bring a pack of local brews and burgers or fish to grill up. (Also a great opportunity to whip out your Beach Day Bangers Spotify playlist.)

Breakfast BBQ

A great option for all you love, head down to the Noosa Headland day-use area for a delicious (free!) BBQ. A great option for breakfast or lunch, which is also wheelchair accessible! Pack your breakfast combo of bacon, eggs and hash browns for a breaky roll, or perhaps just bread, sausages and onions for the classic Australian lunch. Whatever your pick is, do it in the beauty of Noosa’s outdoors.

Get your game on

Conveniently located in Hastings Street’s Bay Village precinct, Pixels Arcade has everything teens and tweens could hope for this school holidays. Fit with redemption games, arcade games, console action and relaxed spaces outdoors, they will be laughing, smiling and dancing all day long. With the most exciting milkshakes you’ll find in the area and plenty of food to keep them energised, they will remember this one for a while.
