48 hours at this year's Noosa Tri

The Noosa Triathlon is simply the biggest, oldest triathlon in Australia, and is the largest Olympic-length triathlon in the world. On top of that, it happens to be the largest multi-sports festival in the Southern Hemisphere.

Endurance events don’t get much more iconic than this five day festival!

There's plenty more than just the triathlon to get you excited though: there's a run/swim/run race, Breakfast Fun Run, Tour de Noosa, Ocean Swim, kids tri, Special Tri and Hastings Street activities to keep the action going.

Not sure where to start? Here's our guide to spending 48 hours at this year's Noosa Triathlon.

Friday afternoon

Arrive at Hastings Street and head straight to your accommodation to check in. Once you've set down your bags, make your way down to the festival's Sport & Lifestyle Expo.

Located in the Noosa Woods at the end of Hastings Street, this buzzing hub is a highlight of the weekend. Not only is it a great place to soak in the event atmosphere, it is also the spot to see and learn about the latest and greatest tech, pick up some products and find great deals.

Friday evening

Head back to Noosa Main Beach to catch sunset before making your way to dinner. There's plenty of delicious food options on the street!

Saturday morning

Ease into your Tri weekend with a walk through the Noosa National Park. It's an easy stroll from Hastings Street and once you're there, you'll be greeted by coastal walks and scenic ocean views as far as the eye can see.

Next, head back to your accommodation to freshen up before heading out again for a beachfront brunch at Season Restaurant, Bistro C or Boardwalk Bistro on Hastings.

Saturday afternoon

If it's fast-paced, high-energy, super-fun sporting action you want then Noosa Tri's Super Saturday is for you! This non-stop, action-packed afternoon sees some of Australia's best battling it out on bikes, in togs and on the road, across four electrifying events.

Saturday evening

Finish off your afternoon with a sunset drink and dinner from the Noosa Surf Club deck. Get a good night's sleep because it's an early start tomorrow.

Sunday morning

Rise early, grab a coffee and make your way to the Noosa Triathlon starting line on Noosa Main Beach – the main race officially kicks off at 6:15am.

Follow the action all day long from along the course. You may even opt to jump aboard the Noosa Ferry, hopping on and off between the Hastings Street race precinct and Noosaville. They are running a supersized ferry timetable all weekend long as well as a Noosa Tri express service.

Sunday afternoon

Once the race has finished, stick around to celebrate at the Festival Village Sunday Sesh. The festival wraps up with live music and a firework showcase which is the perfect opportunity to reflect on your achievement.

Staying on for a few days? Why not unwind by SUPing around from Hastings Street.
